Math dinners at the ends of the earth

At SCNU High, students call her “Jingshu-jie”, big sister Jingshu. She was also the math teacher of our co-founder Boxi Yu: when he was just starting out in mathematics, she guided him again and again with great patience.

Today, teacher and student have become partners, and Jingshu designs courses for students together with us.

She cares about her students’ studies and their lives. Many of them have scattered to the far corners of the world after graduating, yet wherever they are, they still meet Jingshu for dinner. It is a romantic story of math teachers and students that belongs to SCNU High.

The SCNU High emblem shows a pair of hands holding a dove of peace. We believe that dove will carry an education that looks to modernization, to the world and to the future, to every corner of the world.

Do students really need to grind through so many problems?

Zijun followed Boxi Yu at SCNU High a few years later. After graduating from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University, he returned to his old school as a math coach.

The two of them often talk about one question: do students really need to grind through so many problems to learn math? Zijun has his own views on learning mathematics. The direction we found together is to use AI to analyze each student’s learning, and work out which ideas they have mastered and which still need work. That is crucial for building real ability.

Once we know exactly what each student has mastered, no one has to grind through the same problems again and again. The time saved goes back to exploration and thinking, which is what education is really about.

Bringing the best education to every corner of the world

Coach Wu graduated from the High School Affiliated to Northwestern Polytechnical University. At the 31st China Mathematical Olympiad (CMO), he won a gold medal, ranking 29th nationally, and was selected for the 2016 China Mathematical Olympiad national training team.

He has his own distinctive understanding of education. We once discussed educational equity together: the AI era will bring education within everyone’s reach.

That is our direction too. We will move faster to bring the best educational resources to every corner of the world.

Wang Xiaopeng is a coach full of ideas. He uses AI deeply in his teaching to empower olympiad training across subjects.

Through his introductions, OneAI has reached more schools, supporting students on their learning journeys and teachers in their work.

Bringing university research into school classrooms

Chen Guoqing strongly supports our work connecting industry, research and teaching. With his support, the software engineering group at CUHK-Shenzhen has visited Zhixin School and Daoyuan School to work closely with frontline teachers.

Together with the teachers, we explore how to make better use of AI tools to build courseware, grade work, organize materials and build problem banks.

From an idea to an application that works

Xiong Haoran earned his bachelor’s degree at CUHK-Shenzhen. He has many ideas for using AI tools in teaching, from building problem banks to a range of classroom applications.

Our team has turned many of his ideas into applications that reliably support teaching.
